Learning Design Coach: Embracing the Challenge-Based Idea

In this video, Learning Design Coach (LDC) David Wilson talks about how working with the Design Fellows and teacher candidates at the WW Academy has inspired him to use more project-based challenges in his own classroom, mimicking the challenge-based curriculum that teacher candidates complete during the master’s degree program. Mr. Wilson also reflects on how debriefing with candidates has helped him think about his own teaching.

Each teacher candidate at the WW Academy is paired with an experienced educator—the LDCs—in one of the partner school districts or out-of-school-time learning spaces. This clinical placement gives candidates carefully supervised but very real opportunities to practice what they are learning during their program work.
